Büşra lives with her family in a quiet neighborhood.
Every morning she usually gets up early, drinks a glass of water, and reads a few pages of an English book before breakfast.
She always says, "I think every new day is a new chance to learn."
Her father, Vefa, works in an office, her mother, Hena, cooks wonderful meals, and her sister, Lena, works at a software company.
Their family always helps one another because they believe everyone should support the people they love.
This Saturday is different because everyone is preparing for a busy weekend.
Hena is cooking breakfast in the kitchen while Vefa is reading the newspaper at the table.
Lena is writing an email, and Büşra is helping her mother.
Nail and Nil are coming to visit them soon, so everyone must finish breakfast before they arrive.
"Can you turn on the kettle, Büşra?" Hena asks.
"Of course," Büşra replies. "I can do it."
Vefa smiles and says, "You should also remind everyone to bring water because it might be very hot today."
After breakfast they leave the house and go to the library by bus.
When they come to the bus stop, Nail and Nil are already waiting for them.
They laugh together because they can finally spend the whole day together.
On the way, Nil says, "I'm afraid I forgot my notebook."
"Don't worry," Lena answers. "You can use mine."
Last weekend they went to the city park.
They visited a museum, ate sandwiches by the lake, and drank fresh juice.
Before they went home, they looked for a small souvenir shop because Büşra wanted a bookmark.
They found one, and she was very happy.
While Büşra was reading an English story in the library, Nail was asking Ahmet Bey about science books.
Lena was speaking quietly with Nil, and Vefa was helping a little boy look for his dictionary.
Hena was waiting near the window because she would like everyone to leave together.
Büşra has already read many English stories, and she has written several short essays since last year.
She has visited the library many times, but she hasn't finished all the books she wants to read yet.
Lena has always helped her, and she says, "You should never stop learning."
Yesterday, before Vefa came home, Hena had prepared dinner.
Lena had left work early, Nail had finished his homework, and Nil had written her book report.
They had been looking for an old family photo before dinner, and they finally found it in a small box.
Tomorrow they will visit Grandma and Grandpa.
Hena will prepare a homemade cake, and Lena will bring some books.
Vefa will remind everyone to leave on time because they must catch the morning bus.
If the weather changes, they might take the train instead.
At this time tomorrow, Grandma will be cooking lunch while Grandpa will be speaking with Vefa in the garden.
Büşra will be helping Grandma, Lena will be reading, Nail will be writing funny notes, and Nil will be taking pictures.
They will be having a wonderful afternoon together.
Büşra has been studying English for many months.
She has been reading stories every evening since winter, and she has been writing a diary almost every day.
Vefa has been drinking more water because his doctor told him he must drink at least two liters a day.
Hena has been reminding everyone to live a healthy life.
Before the family reached Grandma's house, Hena had been cooking for two hours.
Nail had been waiting at the station since eight o'clock, and Lena had been preparing the gifts all morning.
Although everyone was a little tired, nobody wanted to complain because the visit was important.
By tomorrow evening, Büşra will have written another English story.
Nail will have read a new science book.
Lena will have finished her work, and Hena will have cooked another delicious dinner.
Vefa will have reminded everyone to drink enough water, and Grandma will have thanked them for the wonderful visit.
By next summer, Büşra will have been studying English for two years.
Lena will have been working at her company for six years.
Vefa will have been helping his family every day, and Hena will have been cooking with love for many years.
They know that learning takes time, but every small step matters.
When they finally come back home, everyone sits together on the sofa.
They speak about the day, laugh at funny moments, and eat the cake Grandma gave them.
Vefa says, "I think this was one of our best weekends."
"That's true," Lena answers.
Büşra smiles.
She no longer translates every sentence into Turkish.
She understands the people, the places, and the story.
She notices the small words like can, should, must, already, yet, since, and for without stopping.
She follows the action naturally.
Before going to bed, she writes one last sentence in her notebook:
I can understand more today than yesterday, and I know I will understand even more tomorrow.
Hena looks at her and smiles.
"Of course you will," she says.
Just keep reading, keep writing, keep asking questions, and never stop learning.
Büşra closes her notebook, turns off the light, and falls asleep with a smile because she knows tomorrow will bring another story.
